Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma urged voters
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said the Congress party can reconstruct the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya instead of the Ram temple.
Speaking at an election rally in Malkangiri, Odisha, he urged people to prevent this from happening and ensure that the BJP wins 400 seats.
“People wonder why we have set a target of 400 seats. It is because Congress can rebuild Babri Masjid instead of Ram Mandir. We should ensure that Babri Masjid is never rebuilt in India. So we There is a need to give more than 400 seats to PM Modi and make him the PM,” Himanta Biswa Sarma was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
The BJP leader said that his party plans to do much more than the construction of Ram temple.
“Earlier, Congress used to ask about the date of construction of Ram temple. Now, they have stopped asking… Congress understands that our ambitions are beyond just Ram temple; our aim is to liberate every temple in our country. Our agenda is comprehensive,” he said.
In 2019, the Supreme Court ruled for the construction of Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya. In January this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the temple.
Recently, PM Modi expressed his desire to secure 400 Lok Sabha seats to prevent Congress from hindering the progress of Ram Temple, which he termed as “Babri Lock”.
On Thursday, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that the Prime Minister is not telling the truth and Congress will respect the Supreme Court’s decision.
“This is completely false. The Congress party has repeatedly said that it will respect the court’s decision. We have done so in the past and will continue to do so in the future,” he said.
