Assam: In a statement on microblogging platform Gogoi’s comments came in response to Ax’s decision to ban accounts linked to the ongoing farmer protests in India, following a request from the central government.

Expressing his concern over censorship of free speech, Gogoi stressed that censorship should never be the answer to dissent. He criticized the government for endorsing this approach in response to any form of protest. Gogoi reiterated his party’s solidarity with the farmers and pledged to carry their voice in their quest for justice.
