Assam Governor stresses on role of diplomacy during meeting with IFS trainees

Assam: Assam Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya interacted with six Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer trainees from the 2025 batch at Lok Bhavan in Guwahati on January 19.
During the interaction, the Governor emphasized the crucial role of the Indian Foreign Service in advancing India’s global interests and strengthening the country’s diplomatic reach.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on proactive and people-centered diplomacy, Acharya said that today Indian diplomats play a vital role in enhancing India’s international stature and deepening partnerships around the world.
The Governor said that IFS officers serve as ambassadors of India’s values and culture and are tasked with protecting national interests with professionalism and sensitivity. He urged the trainees to uphold constitutional values and work towards promoting peace, cooperation, and mutual understanding among nations.
Congratulating the officer trainees on their selection into one of the most prestigious services of the country, Acharya expressed confidence that they will serve the nation with utmost dedication and excellence and contribute significantly in strengthening India’s global identity.
