Assembly Speaker called all-party meeting a day before the winter session
Shimla. Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania has called an all-party meeting on December 18 regarding the winter session to be held from December 19 to 23 in Tapovan, Dharamshala. In this, Leader of Opposition has been invited from the opposition side and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan has been invited from the government side. In the all-party meeting, the Assembly Speaker will appeal for cooperation from both the parties in conducting the proceedings, so that the House can be run in an amicable manner. After the release of the notification regarding the session, a series of asking questions has started from the MLAs of the party and the opposition. About 300 starred and unstarred questions have been asked in it.
Questions are being asked by the MLAs through both mediums i.e. online and written medium. However, most of the questions have been asked online. The meeting of the ruling Congress and the opposition BJP legislature party regarding the session is likely to be held in Dharamshala on December 18. In this, the meeting of the ruling party will be chaired by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu while Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur will preside over the meeting. In this, both the parties will finalize their strategy regarding the session. The session will start on December 19 at 11 am from Shokodgar, in which tribute will be paid to the deceased members of the Assembly. After this, the proceedings will proceed on the topics included in the agenda.
There are full chances that the winter session of the Assembly will be full of chaos. There will be a total of 5 sittings during the session and 1 day (21st December) has been earmarked as Private Members’ Working Day. This will be the fourth session of the 14th Assembly. During the session, on completion of one year tenure of the opposition government, various issues like closure of institutions, law and order situation, providing help to the affected after natural disaster, condition of roads, taking loans, mining, education and health and others were discussed. Questions can be asked on various topics and the ruling party will also prepare a strategy to corner the opposition. In this, all the ministers will be asked to answer every question of the opposition with facts.
