At Chennai airport, more than 90 flight services were cancelled for the sixth consecutive day.

Tamil Nadu: Passengers faced inconvenience for the sixth consecutive day at Chennai Airport due to the cancellation of more than 90 flights.

Indigo’s flight services have been disrupted across the country for the past five days. Sunday marked the sixth day of this disruption at Chennai Airport.

More than 90 Indigo flights, both arriving and departing, were cancelled, causing significant inconvenience to passengers.

Although information about the cancellations was sent only to booked passengers via text message, many passengers, unsure of what to do, arrived at the airport and argued with Indigo staff.

Due to the continuous flight cancellations and service disruptions, coupled with inflated fares, the number of passengers at the airport was significantly low. As a result, Domestic Terminal 1, which is usually bustling with activity, appeared deserted.

Meanwhile, many people are avoiding booking Indigo flights and are opting for other airlines. Those traveling to their hometowns and abroad for the Christmas, New Year, and Pongal holidays are booking with other airlines. This has led to a multi-fold increase in flight fares.
