Attempt to murder councillor’s family, father injured in attack

Durg: In Bhilai, under Jamul police station area, illegal liquor and ganja are being sold openly along with gambling on the banks of the canal at a distance from Jamul Nagar Palika. When the councillor here protested against this and complained at many places, the people involved in this illegal business attacked his old parents with a cutter.

Jamul Nagar Palika’s Ward 4 councillor Narendra Devdas said that in his ward, illegal liquor is being sold on the banks of the canal at a distance of 100 meters from his house. Ganja is being sold. Gambling is being done. He protested against this. He also complained about this to the Nagar Palika and the police. After this, Krishna Sahu, who was doing this illegal work, started having enmity with him. His father works in Satyam Trailer Supela. When he was returning from work late on Monday evening. As soon as he reached near the house, some people were abusing in an inebriated state. When the councillor’s father stopped them from doing so, the people sitting there started quarreling with him.

When the councillor’s mother reached there, those people attacked the old man with a cutter. The councillor’s father was bleeding profusely after the cutter hit his head.
