Gonda: A sensational case has come to light from Gonda, UP. Where a woman and her nephew committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train. Police sources said here that 32-year-old widow Pushpa Devi, a resident of Itiyathok area, lived with her in-laws with her two children. During this time, she fell in love with her 22-year-old nephew Ravindra Kumar. On coming to know about this, the family opposed it, because they wanted to get Ravindra married somewhere else.

The aunt and nephew committed suicide by jumping in front of a train near Kathouwa railway crossing on Gonda Barhni railway block on Sunday. As soon as the news of the incident was received, hundreds of people from the area gathered at the spot. On receiving information about the incident, Railway Police and Kotwali Itiyathok Police also reached the spot. Police have sent both the bodies for post-mortem. According to the information, the aunt and the son of the sister-in-law were having a love affair for many years. Both the families were aware of this matter and there was tension between the two families regarding this matter. Recently, the tension between the two families increased and people started interrogating them regarding this illegal relationship. Fed up with this, the two lovers committed suicide by jumping in front of a train on Sunday.
The villagers told that the woman’s husband had died three years ago. It was only after the death of the husband that the closeness between them increased which later turned into a love affair. The love between them grew so much that they could not tolerate the interference of the people and they both committed suicide by jumping in front of a train.
