Australia: Two people seriously injured in Melbourne stabbing incident
Sydney: Two people were seriously injured in a stabbing incident in Melbourne’s northwest, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported on Sunday. Police in the Australian state of Victoria said an 18-year-old man was attacked by a group of people around midnight on Saturday outside a shopping centre on Lake Street in Caroline Springs, 20 kilometres northwest of central Melbourne.
The 18-year-old was stabbed and taken to hospital in critical condition. Victoria Police said the group of attackers fled in a dark coloured car and drove further down the street, before allegedly attacking another man and stealing his phone.
The second victim, 22, also suffered serious knife injuries and was hospitalised. Police detectives have launched an investigation into the attacks and have asked anyone with information to come forward.
