Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centers renamed
New Delhi (ANI): The central government has decided to rename Ayushman Bharat health and wellness centers as ‘Ayushman Arogya Mandir’, a letter obtained by ANI said. The Union Health Ministry has sent a letter to states and union territories to implement the rebranding process. The letter said, “Going a step further and realizing the dream of Ayushman Bharat, the competent authority has decided to change the name of Ayushman Bharat-Health and Wellness Centers to ‘Ayushman Arogya Mandir’ with the tagline ‘Arogya Param Dhanam’. “It has been decided.” It said, “The new title will be ‘Ayushman Arogya Mandir’, with the tagline ‘Aarogyam Param Dhanam’.
It will have to suitably replace the existing title, ‘Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centres’ in all operational AB-HWCs.” Ayushman Bharat (AB) is a scheme launched in 2018 by the central government that aims to provide free health care services and health insurance coverage to low-income people in the country. It has two components which complement each other. Under its first component, Health and Wellness Centers (HWCs) have been created to provide comprehensive primary health care that is universal and free to users, with a focus on wellness and an extended range of services close to the community. Delivery has been made. The second component is the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), which provides health insurance cover of Rs. Rs 5 lakh per year to low income people in the country.
