Balasore train accident: CBI files charge sheet, clamps down on 3 railway officials
Bhubaneswar: CBI has filed a chargesheet against three railway officials arrested in the Balasore train accident in Odisha. The arrested officers have been charged under Section 304 (2) of the Indian Penal Code, Section 34 read with Section 201 and Section 153 of the Railway Act 1989.
This is how the accident happened
On the evening of June 2, the Chennai-bound Coromandel Express entered the loop line instead of the main line, where a goods train was standing. The train collided with the goods train. The Coromandel and some bogies of the goods train were scattered on the adjacent track. Shortly thereafter, the Howrah-Bengaluru Express collided with coaches scattered on the track. According to official figures, 295 people died in the accident and more than 1100 people were injured.
सीबीआई ने बालासोर रेल हादसे में तीन आरोपियों अरूण महांतो, मोहम्मद आमिर खान और पप्पू के खिलाफ चार्जशीट दाखिल की। ये चार्जशीट IPC 304 Part 2, 34 r/w 201 IPC और 153 Railway Act में भुवनेश्वर कोर्ट में दाखिल की गयी। इस हादसे में 294 लोगों की मौत हुयी थी।
