Barricades are being removed from Pragati Bhawan
Hyderabad: Authorities on Thursday began the process of removing the barricades in front of Pragati Bhawan, which will allow entry of the public without any restrictions and facilitate more fluid movement of traffic in the area.
Using gas welding equipment, workers began cutting and removing the three-meter height fence. The authorities had erected a fence on the premises of Pragati Bhawan after it became known about frequent incidents of people throwing stones. However, the barricades were also a hindrance to motorists, creating a bottleneck on the main road, often causing traffic jams.
The decision to remove the barricades came days after Telangana minister-designate Revanth Reddy, who will be sworn in as the prime minister, announced that Pragathi Bhavan would be opened to the public.
Earlier, in a statement, Revanth Reddy had announced that the doors of the minister principal’s residence would be opened for the public.
“The doors of Pragati Bhawan will be opened for the public. Dr BR Ambedkar Praja Bhavan was called and passed”, declared Revanth Reddy.
