Bengaluru: BBMP garbage compactor takes rider’s life

Bengaluru: A BBMP garbage compactor hit the back of a scooter at Banashankari, south of Bengaluru, on Wednesday afternoon, causing the driver to fall and suffer serious head injuries. Died in action. The accident occurred at 14.15, Banashankari traffic police was informed. The victim was identified as Mudassir, 42, resident of Yarab Nagar and a soldier by profession. Police sources said Mudassir was traveling on the main road from Yarab Nagar towards Bendre Circle when a speeding compactor hit the rear of his scooter, causing him to fall on the road. The compactor partially hit him and he died in the incident. Police said the driver of the compactor abandoned the vehicle after the accident and is still missing. He filed a case against the driver accusing him of rash driving and causing death by negligence.
