Bhagalpur DM appeals to farmers to get e-KYC done

Bhagalpur: Bhagalpur District Magistrate (DM) Nawal Kishore Choudhary stated that e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) and Aadhaar authentication are essential for farmers to continue benefiting from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme and other agricultural services.
DM Nawal Kishore Choudhary stated that during his field visits, feedback was collected from farmers regarding the progress of e-KYC and FR. Based on this, a detailed plan has been developed to set up registration camps in all blocks and panchayats to ensure that no eligible farmer is left out.
He stated that farmers who are properly registered will have no problems receiving payments. He added that e-KYC can be completed through a mobile app or at a Common Service Center (CSC).
He added, “We are also reaching out to farmers through camps to facilitate e-KYC and registration.” The District Magistrate (DM) visited several blocks in Bhagalpur district to review the progress of farmers’ e-KYC and Farmer Registration (FR). During his visit, DM Chaudhary interacted directly with farmers and received feedback on the speed and effectiveness of the ongoing verification and registration work.
He stated that completing these processes on time is a priority for the district administration and issued necessary instructions to officials in this regard.
According to the administration, e-KYC and farmer registration are being implemented in all blocks and panchayats across Bihar.
Farmer advisors, revenue staff, and agriculture coordinators have been deployed to ensure that every eligible farmer completes the necessary formalities.
The DM stated that special camps are being planned in all panchayats to facilitate farmers’ easy completion of e-KYC and FR.
According to administrative officials, e-KYC and FR are essential for ensuring smooth and seamless access to PM-KISAN benefits. He further stated that this is also necessary for access to other government services related to agriculture.
Farmers’ identities are verified through Aadhaar-based authentication. Officials say this is intended to help prevent duplication and ensure that benefits reach genuine individuals.
Farmers can now complete Aadhaar authentication through a mobile application or a Common Service Center (CSC). This can be done using face authentication or OTP-based verification. They can also do it from their homes.
Farmer registration is crucial for creating a digital database by linking Aadhaar details with land records. This integrated system improves transparency. It also makes the distribution of government schemes more efficient and targeted.
To complete the FR, farmers must have their Aadhaar card and a linked mobile number. The district administration has appealed to the farmers to complete e-KYC and farmer registration as soon as possible so that there is no hindrance in getting the installments of PM-KISAN and other farming benefits.
