Bharatpur: After the son, the father also got life imprisonment for raping a minor.
In a significant and harsh verdict, the POCSO Court No. 2 in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, sentenced Moolchand, convicted of raping a 10-year-old minor, to life imprisonment. Four years ago, the court had also sentenced Moolchand’s son, Saheb Singh, to life imprisonment in the same case, and he is already in jail.
POCSO Court Public Prosecutor Maharaj Singh Sinsinwar stated that the incident occurred in 2016. On November 21, a woman from Jaipur filed a case against Moolchand and his son Saheb Singh, residents of Tajpur village in the Halaina police station area, for raping her 10-year-old daughter. The victim’s mother and Moolchand’s wife were acquainted, and as a result, the victim frequently visited Tajpur village with her mother.
He stated that on the night of November 20, 2016, the victim was staying with her mother in Tajpur village. That night, when the minor’s mother heard her daughter crying and went into the room, she saw the minor covered in blood. The victim then told her mother that Saheb Singh had raped her. When the woman was leaving for Jaipur the next morning, Moolchand stopped her. At that very moment, the minor told her mother that Saheb Singh’s father, Moolchand, had also raped her multiple times.
The victim’s mother then reported the entire incident to the police. Police raided the scene and arrested the father and son. During interrogation, both accused confessed to their involvement in the incident, after which the police presented them in court.
On October 30, 2021, the court initially convicted Saheb Singh of rape and sentenced him to life imprisonment. However, at that time, the court gave a clean chit to the father, Moolchand. However, the hearing resumed on the victim’s appeal. On Tuesday, the court sentenced Moolchand to life imprisonment.
