Bhopal Crime Branch picked up a youth from Bilaspur, had trapped many bachelors
MP. Cyber Crime Branch in Bhopal has arrested a fraudster who used to dupe bachelors through fake matrimonial website. The accused is 12th pass and was running this illegal business from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh. According to the information, this type of fraud has been done with about 500 people. According to the police, 47-year-old Anand Dixit, a resident of Kasturba Nagar, while giving an application to the Cyber Crime Branch, told that he had seen an ad of Sangam Vivaah Matrimony on Facebook. On clicking on it, photos of various girls were sent to him through WhatsApp chat, from which after selecting the photo, the girls of the call center talked to him. After this, the call center girl cheated about Rs 1.50 lakh for preparing marriage papers, lawyer’s fees, hotel rent, buying Mangal Sutra, Shagun, Pandit and other things. Acting on the application, a case under section 420 IPC was registered in the Crime Branch.
A complaint of this fraud was made on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCCRP) and a bank account was closed in the trail. To open this bank account, the accused Harish Bhardwaj came to Cyber Crime Bhopal. When the Crime Branch officers interrogated him strictly, he told that he and his associates have cheated people by creating 6 fake matrimonial websites – Indian Royal Matrimony, Search Rishtey, Dream Partner India, 7 Phere Matrimony, Sangam Vivaah and MyShaadi Planner. After this, the accused was arrested. 2 mobile phones used in the crime have been seized from the possession of the accused.
During police interrogation, the accused told that he and his associates together created 6 matrimonial websites in a fake manner. For all these, they create pages on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram and give their ads. In the ad, they used to download the photo of any girl from the Internet and prepare her fake bio data. After that, after the customer selects the photos, a fake photo and biodata are sent. After this, the mobile number of the girl is shared with the customers. The girl is the one who talks at the call center. That girl extorts money in the name of wedding preparations. The salary of these girls is fixed. If someone persists too much, then they threaten to take action against him in the police.
