Bike stolen in front of mosque, cunning people caught with CCTV footage
Surguja: Kotwali police has got great success in catching two cunning bike thieves. After investigating the CCTV footage installed across the city, the police has reached the accused. Eight bikes have been seized from the possession of the accused.
Applicant Wasim Ahmed, who lives in Mominpura, had complained about bike theft in Kotwali police station on July 6. He had told that on July 5, he had gone to the mosque to offer namaz and had parked the motorcycle outside. On returning, the motorcycle was found missing from its place. After receiving the complaint of theft, the police started investigating the matter. These days, cases of bike theft were coming to the fore in the city, keeping this in mind, on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, a special team was formed in the case of two-wheeler theft and the accused were being searched. The police team took two suspects into custody after observing the CCTV footage installed around the incident site.
On questioning the two suspects Saddam and Deepak, residents of Lundra area, the accused confessed to stealing motorcycles from the mosque and the surrounding areas of the city. On the information given by the accused, the police recovered eight two-wheelers stolen from different places in the city and took action against the accused under the relevant sections and sent them on judicial remand.
