Birthday talk show in fine arts
Bhilai. Artists from India and abroad, who gathered to open the regional center of Lalit Kala Academy, started online talk shows on the birthdays of senior and well-known artists. In this episode, the personality and work of Bhilai’s famous painter Harisena was discussed on his birthday. The main speaker of which was Kapil Verma, Assistant Professor of History and Aesthetics Department of Khairagarh Music University. During this, famous modern art painter D.S. Vidyarthi, Acharya Mahesh Chandra Sharma, musician Madan Sharma, Dr. Sonali Chakraborty, Kamlesh Saxena from America etc. also expressed their views.
Professor Kapil Verma, while commenting critically on Harisena’s art, said that he is a skilled painter of figure-based painting style. By creating a work on Ramayana, Manas is equally adept in depiction, but it is surprising when he successfully dares to establish the truth of his part even in the abstract painting style of the 1950s. Keynote speaker Kapil Verma also thanked Bhilai Steel Plant, which apart from iron production, has been giving such famous artists to the society. In which artistes like Padmavibhushan Teejan Bai and Nelson also come. Acharya Mahesh Chandra Sharma has congratulated the Lalit Kala Group for the creative initiative like online talk show on the birthday in the current era of misuse of social media. Kamlesh Saxena from America described Harisena’s art as world class and recently compared it with New York’s Momo Museum of Modern Art. Where exhibitions of great artists like Picasso, Van Gogh, Sisley, Monet are held.
Taking the discussion of the talk show forward, renowned modern art painter D.S. Vidyarthi expressed concern over the artists of Chhattisgarh not getting a proper platform. Chhattisgarh Ratna award winning sculptor Mohan Baral and famous photographer Kamlesh Verma said that if a regional center of fine arts is opened in Bhilai, the artists here can also move forward. Dr. Sonali Chakraborty described Harisena’s paintings as the heritage of Chhattisgarh. During the discussion, famous painter Brajesh Tiwari, Vijay Sharma, musician Madan Sharma, President awardee Guruji Parasram Sahu, Puranik Sahu from village Dhaneli Balod, Meena Dewangan from Kondagaon, Praveen Kalmegh, R.D. Burman, Girja Nirmalkar from Mahasamund, Abhishek Sapan, Preeti, Stuti, Gunjan Sharma and Dheeraj Sahu from Khairagarh also expressed their views. While efficiently conducting the talk show, litterateurs Maneka Verma and Lalleshwari Sahu said that there will be continuous discussion on the birthdays of all the respected senior artistes associated with the show. During this, the first board member of Lalit Kala Academy from Chhattisgarh, Dr. Ankush Dewangan was also present.
