Bison dies, poachers suspected

Bilaspur. A bison died under suspicious circumstances in the forest of Forest Development Corporation area adjacent to Achanakmar Tiger Reserve Area (ATR) of Chhattisgarh. It is suspected that the bison died due to electrocution from the electric wire installed by the poachers.
It is also being said that to suppress the matter, Forest Development Corporation officials conducted the postmortem of the bison’s body without experts. The incident is said to have happened a week ago.

According to the information, before the voting of assembly elections, the dead body of a bison was found in the forest of room number P 173 of Sarhiya Beat of Shivtarai area of Kota range of Forest Development Corporation adjacent to ATR. The age of the bison is said to be between 7-8 years. Forest Development Corporation officials were informed about the finding of the bison’s dead body.
