BJP leader spit on the young man, kicked him

Ranchi. BJP leader and former MLA from Jarmundi assembly constituency under Dumka district of Jharkhand, Devendra Kunwar made a youth do sit-ups by holding his ear in the crowd, forced him to lick spit and thrashed him with kicks. The name of the youth is being told as Tausif, who is accused of making videos of women taking bath in the river. This incident happened last Sunday and its video is now going viral on social media. The police remain clueless on the matter, saying action will be taken if complaints come to light. Devendra Kunwar has accepted that he had punished the youth last Sunday. They say that if they did not punish the young man, the agitated mob could have thrashed him badly. He took such a step to pacify the anger of the villagers. The youth Tausif is a resident of Sadhudih village. According to former MLA Devendra Kunwar, the villagers caught him for making videos of women bathing in the river. They brought him to him and asked him to hold a panchayat in this matter. Meanwhile, the people involved in the crowd asked him to spit and lick it. People were so angry that if he was not punished, any untoward situation could have arisen. He could have died too. BJP leader Devendra Kunwar has also accepted the point of kicking him. He said that the grandfather of the young man sets up a fruit shop on our land. They had also taken him to their house after the panchayat for his safety. Here on social media people are demanding action against the BJP leader after watching the video of this incident. The station in-charge of Jarmundi says that no complaint of such an incident has come to the police. Appropriate action will be taken when the matter comes to the fore. Devendra Kunwar was the BJP candidate from Jarmundi constituency in the year 2019, but lost the election. Earlier, he was elected MLA from the same constituency in 1995 by JMM and in 2000 by BJP.
