Blue alert issued for rain, storm in China

Beijing (IANS)| China’s National Meteorological Center on Monday issued a blue alert for thunderstorms in some parts of the country. Heavy rain is expected in parts of Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui, Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu, Shanxi, Shanxi, Guangxi and Chongqing from 8 a.m. Monday to 8 a.m. Tuesday, Xinhua reported.

Parts of Anhui, Hubei and Hunan may receive heavy rainfall of up to 130 mm.

According to the weather forecast, there may be heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds with rainfall exceeding 60 mm per hour at some places in some areas.

The National Meteorological Center has asked the concerned government departments to be prepared for heavy rains, adding that schools should take appropriate measures for the safety of students.
