Body of professor found floating in Mahanadi river, police probe underway
Cuttack: In a shocking incident, the body of a professor was found floating in Mahanadi river in Cuttack district of Odisha on Tuesday. According to reports, the missing professor’s body was recovered from Mahanadi.
The body was recovered from Gate No. 94 in Jobra Anicut of Cuttack. The deceased has been identified as Baishnab Charan Singh of Bhubaneswar in Patia area. He is 78 years old and was a retired professor.
The family of the professor had filed a complaint with Nandankanan police station on December 15 regarding Baishnab’s disappearance. His body was recovered from Mahanadi today.
Further it is worth mentioning that, it is not clear whether it was a murder or he killed himself. The Malgodown Police reached the spot and started an investigation. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
