Bollywood promoting ‘wrong things’ for money: Aniruddha Acharya

New Delhi: Spiritual guru Aniruddha Acharya will now be seen in the popular television show ‘Laughter Chef Fun Unlimited’. During a conversation with IANS, he talked about food, social media and the negative influence of Bollywood on youth.

On his experience in ‘Laughter Chef Fun Unlimited’, he said, “The people of the laughter show and all the employees of Colors TV are very nice and are doing a great job. They are connecting society as well as religion through their program. Through the show, we can connect with religion with laughter. So everyone must watch this show.”

On his favorite jodi in the show, he said, “Everyone is great. Krishna, Sudesh and Bharti are especially great. Their unique style of connecting and attracting people makes their performance in the show different.”

Talking about his first experience on television, he said, “Initially I was a little scared, then I got over it. Now when I think about it, I feel I could have made people laugh a little more, but since this was my first experience on television, I was thinking about what I should say and what I should not. I was also thinking that I should not say something that would hurt someone. Initially I was afraid of these things, but then I spoke openly.”

Talking about doing his own show, he said, “The channel called me and made my presence felt and I gave my best. When I get a better opportunity, I will do even better because now I have opened up. This was my first time so I performed well but I could have done better. However, if I get a chance again, I will do even better. All the other stars (actors-actresses) are talented and are doing well.”

Responding to questions about his daily diet, he said, “I mostly eat simple food. In the show, I make makhana ki kheer. We all should eat healthy food. Whatever is not good for our health, we should not eat it even at home.” On every video of his going viral on social media, he said, “It feels good. Society and youth get to learn good things from it. Religion is for everyone, whether today’s youth agrees with it or not. That’s why I went to Laughter Chef so that along with food, there could be a conversation with me about religion.” He further said, “We could have a good conversation with laughter and we could reach out to the youth through it. This was the only reason for me to go to the show… I made people laugh and also told people the importance of prasad and religion.” On whether a biopic is being made on him, he said, “It is very difficult to answer this question. However, I am very happy… Today, Bharti, Sudesh and Krishna and others are participants of the show. Today their lives are very successful and I feel my life is also complete. I feel it was of use to someone. Today, in Gauri Gopal Ashram, there are many widowed women, where we serve.”

He further said, “They get food and here these people are making everyone laugh. It means that if you have come to this world, no one should be angry with us. Today, because of my videos on YouTube and social media, people watch it and laugh. I am very happy with this because no one’s eyes fill with tears because of me. If you laugh because of me, then my life is successful.” On watching movies, he said, “I watch less, but I do watch. I have seen some old movies. I haven’t watched a full movie for years. I haven’t seen the new movies being made these days. I have seen “Swarg” and “Baghban”, which have a good portrayal of a mother, father and son.”

On being called the Adi Purush of Bollywood and Krishna, he said, “Bollywood needs to take a new turn and change. Bollywood promotes almost everything. They don’t see that they are promoting wrong things, promoting gutkha, cigarettes and alcohol. They are promoting wrong things for money. These super-duper stars, whether it is Amitabh Bachchan or anyone else, people take inspiration from them and learn.”

He further said, “You should not promote all this for the sake of money because our youth go in the wrong direction after watching them. We have to save ourselves from wrong things. You are an inspiration for the society and people follow the path shown by you whether it is right or wrong. It is their responsibility to show the right path and not the wrong one. So, they need to change a little. The time for change has started. If they don’t change, it won’t work.” Talking about his favourite actress, he said, “Everyone is good. I can’t say favourite. Everyone is good in their field. I don’t know them because I don’t watch them.
