Bomb threats received at Sambalpur, Cuttack, Deogarh courts; security alert issued

Cuttack: Panic spread across parts of Odisha on Thursday morning after emails targeting courts in Sambalpur, Cuttack, and Deogarh sent bomb threats.
Following the threat to the Sambalpur court, police were immediately alerted. Security was tightened at the court, and anti-bomb squad personnel were deployed. A thorough search was conducted using metal detectors and sniffer dogs. As a precaution, the court premises were sealed. Similarly, the Cuttack District Judge Court and the Odisha High Court also received bomb threat emails. Both premises were evacuated, and a thorough search was launched to ensure public safety.
In Deogarh, an email claimed that three RDX explosives had been planted inside the district court premises. Security agencies issued a high alert in the area and intensified surveillance and checking.
Police officials said an investigation is underway to identify the sender of the threatening email. No suspicious item has been recovered yet. Authorities have appealed to the public to remain calm while security teams continue their operation.
