‘Bombay Meri Jaan’ deals with nature vs nurture: Producer Shujaat Saudagar
Mumbai (IANS). Producer Shujaat Saudagar of the upcoming crime streaming drama Bombay Meri Jaan says the show deals with the intricacies of nature versus nurture.
Shujaat sang ‘Rock On!!’ He has also directed the second part, starring Farhan Akhtar, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Prachi Desai and Purab Kohli.
Talking about the show, Shujaat said, “’Bombay Meri Jaan’ deals with the intricacies of nature versus nurture. These kind of theme based, relationship bad stories have always attracted me to tell cinematic narratives.
Bombay Meri Jaan is the saga of a family growing up through its own troubles and difficult experiences along with the growth of independent Mumbai. We can’t wait to see the audience reaction to a series that is very close to our hearts.’
The show stars Amyra Dastur along with KK Menon, Avinash Tiwari, Kritika Kamra and Nivedita Bhattacharya.
The 10-episode series has been created by Rensil D’Silva and Shujaat Saudagar of ‘Kurbaan’ and ‘Rang De Basanti’ fame. It is directed by Shujaat.
The fictional crime series is an interesting tale of a father and son, both two sides of the same coin. The series explores the classic, universal battle of good versus evil. Set in the post-independence days, the story traces the life of a young Dara Qadri (Avinash Tiwari), who is torn between his father’s (KK Menon) law-abiding legacy and his journey into the world of crime.
Ritesh Sidhwani, Excel Media & Entertainment said, “Set in the post-independence era, ‘Bambai Meri Jaan’ tells the story of the birth of the underworld in Mumbai against the backdrop of a free nation. Explores the classic, universal battle of evil.”
Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Kasim Jagmagiya and Farhan Akhtar of Excel Media & Entertainment, Bombay Meri Jaan will premiere on Prime Video on 14 September.
