Books for classes 1-3 included in the new curriculum: Minister Rajmohan released

Tamil Nadu: A major step has been taken towards making school education more interesting, simple, and student-centered in Tamil Nadu. School Education Minister Rajmohan formally released textbooks prepared in accordance with the new curriculum for classes 1 to 3 in the state. This event took place during a review meeting of the School Education Department’s activities held in Chennai on Monday, where several important issues related to the education sector were also discussed.

On this occasion, Minister Rajmohan released a total of nine new textbooks for classes 1, 2, and 3 under the state curriculum. These books have been prepared in accordance with the new syllabus and modern teaching methods, aiming to make learning easy, interesting, and understandable for young children. The Education Department believes that laying a strong foundation in the early grades is crucial for students’ future academic development.

These new textbooks have been designed to ensure that children not only understand the subjects easily but also actively engage in the learning process. According to officials, the primary objective of these books is to help children achieve desired learning outcomes and develop them into capable and responsible individuals. To achieve this, the content has been designed in a child-friendly and engaging manner.

The new books specifically incorporate stories, songs, illustrations, and playful activities to enable children to learn while playing. The Education Department believes that such activities enhance children’s learning and engage them with greater interest in the classroom. This approach has been adopted as a “child-centric learning approach,” an important part of the modern education system.

Furthermore, these textbooks have been designed with colorful and attractive designs to enhance children’s attention to their studies. They also include lessons and activities that will help children develop physical development, social and emotional skills, moral values, and life skills.

According to the Education Department, this new initiative is a significant effort towards further strengthening the quality of primary education in the state. This will not only improve students’ basic understanding but also better prepare them for higher grades.

Minister Rajmohan said during the meeting that the government’s aim is to make the education system more effective and child-friendly. He directed officials to pay special attention to the effective implementation of the new textbooks so that its benefits reach every student.

Education experts have also hailed this new initiative as a positive step that could help further elevate the level of elementary education in Tamil Nadu.
