Boy made swimming record in Prayagraj, UP
Prayagraj (IANS) | Seven-year-old Rudra Kapoor of Uttar Pradesh has set a new record by crossing the Yamuna in just 10.30 minutes through breaststroke swimming. Master trainer Tribhuvan Nishad said it was the first time a kid of his age crossed the river using the breaststroke style.
Rudra, a Class II student at Tagore Public School in Prayagraj, started swimming under the guidance of his instructors Kamla Nishad and Manas Nishad.
Nishad said, Rudra set a record by crossing the 600 meter long and 25 feet deep Yamuna river. He learned to swim in just 15 days.
Rudra’s family members including father Raj Kapoor, mother Bandani Kapoor and sister Avika Kapoor and other locals appreciated his performance on the occasion on Thursday.
It was a dream come true for him who was determined to cross the river to carve a niche for himself, said the father. He wanted to swim and cross the river Yamuna in the least possible time. He always used to talk about swimming tips with his family members and wanted to create many records.
