Bricks and stones pelted in two communities after minor altercation, eight detained

Meerut. People of two communities came face to face after a drunken brawl in Aurangabad village of Bhawanpur police station area. First there was a fight between the two sides. After this there was heavy stone pelting between both the sides. This caused a stampede in the village.

The police arrived on information and chased away both the parties with sticks. Police have detained eight people from both sides. The sub-inspector of the police station has filed the report on his behalf. In this, 12 people have been named and the same number of people have been declared unknown. Police force has been deployed in the village as a precautionary measure.

The cycle show program was going on for many days in Ambedkar Mohalla of village Aurangabad. On Wednesday night at around 11 pm, Nitin from the locality came drunk. While drunk, he fell on Adil from the village who was watching the stunt. Adil opposed this.

It is alleged that Nitin abused Adil and asked him to leave his locality. When there was a dispute on this issue, Nitin and his associates beat up Adil and the youth accompanying him. People nearby intervened. After some time, Adil again reached the spot with his people and started searching for Nitin. On this the people of his locality gathered and started pelting stones.
