Building collapse: Many feared trapped, see VIDEO

Junagadh (Gujarat): A three-storey residential building collapsed on Datar Road in Gujarat’s Junagadh district on Monday and three people are feared trapped under the debris.

Rescue operations are on by the fire brigade and police. Additional Collector PG Patel said that as soon as the information about the incident was received, the District Magistrate, MLA and Deputy Mayor immediately reached the spot. As of now, we have three ambulances at the spot and rescue operation is going on with the help of JCB. Patel said that the building in question was quite old and was being used for residential purposes. At this point, we fear that two-three people may be trapped, but more details will emerge as the rescue efforts continue.

We are well prepared with 108 services and other emergency response teams. At the same time, the Civil Hospital is ready to deal with any possible situation. The authorities are appealing to the local people to stay away from the area so that the rescue teams do not face any problem in carrying out their work.
