The young man attempting suicide broke his leg after jumping from an overbridge in an attempt to end his life.

Durg. A Bhilai Municipal Corporation employee attempted suicide by jumping from the Dhamdha Naka overbridge in Durg. He wandered around the bridge for a long time before suddenly jumping onto the railway tracks below. Although he survived the fall from a height of about 20 feet, he suffered a broken leg.

When local residents asked him the reason for his suicide attempt, he broke down in tears and said that his family members constantly taunted him and threatened to kill him. This is why he had come to commit suicide. The employee attempting suicide has been identified as Bhanupratap Deshmukh, son of Kamlesh Deshmukh, aged 30. He is a resident of Jewar Sirsa Ward No. 13 and works as a sanitation worker at the Bhilai Municipal Corporation. The incident reportedly falls under the jurisdiction of the GRP (Government Railway Police) Durg. The injured man was sent to the district hospital for treatment, where he is currently receiving medical care.

The injured Bhanupratap stated that his family members repeatedly called him mentally ill, which is why he had come to kill himself. He also mentioned that his maternal cousins ​​had sent “goons” after him. He said they kept taunting him, claiming he had a gun, when in reality, it was just a bird-scaring device.
