Burnt body of a man found inside a car in Kerala

Kozhikode: A burnt body was found inside a car that caught fire on a road in Thiruvambady on Friday midnight. The Maruti Alto car of 57-year-old Augustine Joseph, a resident of Punnakkal, was completely destroyed in the incident.

Augustine’s family identified the body. The body was found completely burnt on the driving seat. The primary conclusion of the police is that it is a case of suicide.

“Last night around 12 o’clock, a bike rider passing by saw a burning car on the roadside. Thiruvambadi police reached the spot and extinguished the fire. Augustine’s family members identified the vehicle and its contents.

According to the statement of the family members, he left home in a car at 7 pm on Friday and did not return. The body was handed over to the relatives after postmortem at Kozhikode MCH on Saturday. On the other hand, there is no confirmation as to how the fire broke out. A scientific investigation has been initiated in this regard,” said Jitesh PK, SHO of Thiruvambady police station.
