Bus catches fire, Indian girl dies
Singapore: A bus going from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur collided with a motorcycle and caught fire. A 17-year-old Indian national died and three others were injured in the incident.
The bus was traveling on the North-South Expressway with 28 passengers on board at around 3.50am on January 13, Channel News Asia reported.
Alor Gaza district police chief Superintendent Arshad Abu said the Indian girl sustained burn injuries in the accident and was declared brought dead during treatment.
Police said his body has been sent to Melaka Hospital for post-mortem.
Three injured passengers, who were in the back seat of the bus and suffered burns, were taken to Alor Gaza Hospital for treatment. The police chief told CNA that the injured passengers were family members, one of whom is a Singaporean.
According to police investigation, the bus collided with the motorcycle and dragged it for a few meters and then the bus caught fire.
