Case of assault in post office, officer transferred

Raipur: Additional Director Postal AK Singh, who had assaulted an elderly pensioner in his own room, was successful in getting her transferred with the connivance of officers. Singh was promoted to the junior category pay scale only yesterday. AK Singh had created this ruckus on Wednesday afternoon. After that the case has been registered with Gol Bazar police. Before the police investigation could begin, Singh was successful in getting transferred with the blessing of top officials. After promotion, Singh was transferred to Madhya Pradesh Circle and has been posted as Senior Postal Superintendent, Shahdol.

This order was issued on Friday evening. It is not yet clear whether Singh was relieved or not. In case of absence, he may be relieved on Monday. The police will not even get a chance to start the investigation and Singh will be relieved and leave. In post offices, the officers who suspend or issue charge sheets merely on the basis of such behavior or complaint of a junior employee have ignored the rules to save their comrades.
