Cash stolen from passenger’s pocket from moving auto, two accused arrested
Raipur. Two accused who stole cash from the pocket of a passenger in a moving auto have been arrested. According to the information, Arun Kumar Sahu lodged a report in police station Maudhapara that he is a resident of Kushal Vihar Colony Ward No. 21 Navapara Rajim. The applicant had come to Raipur on 05.07.2023 for shopping from his home Nawapara Rajim and stood near HP Petrol Pump near Shastri Chowk at around 12.45 pm to go to Fafadih Chowk after purchasing medicines from Laxmi Medical shop located near Shastri Chowk. happened. At the same time an auto driver came and made the applicant sit in his auto on the driver’s seat on his left side and 03 persons were sitting in the back seat of the auto. I started reversing the mate and said that the auto has broken down, go to another auto, dropped the applicant from his auto and the auto driver took the auto and went towards Mekahara Chowk. Meanwhile, when the applicant checked the pocket of his pant, the cash amount kept in the right pocket of the pant was not Rs.17,500. The auto driver and his accomplice stole Rs.17,500 in cash from the applicant’s pants pocket. On which crime number 147/23 Section 379, 34 Bhadvi was registered against unknown accused in police station Maudhapara. Offense was registered.
Under the direction of senior officers, the joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and Maudhapara police station started tracing the unknown accused after detailed questioning of the applicant regarding the incident. The members of the team installed CCTV cameras on the routes on which the applicant went in the auto. Observing the footages of the cameras, efforts were made to identify the unknown accused and the auto, as well as informers were also engaged in the case. Since the team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit had caught the accused of Bhilai fort who had committed many incidents of theft on the basis of the incident in the past as well. On which the team members were working to find out the unknown accused by focusing on the Bhilai Durg gang who had stolen autos. Meanwhile, the team members received important information regarding the accused Manish Kumar and Surendra Singh, residents of Durg involved in the incident, on which the team members traced Manish Kumar and Surendra Singh and caught them. On strict interrogation on the basis of the evidence obtained by the team members, the accused were told to carry out the said incident. On which the accused Manish Kumar and Surendra Singh were arrested and action was taken against the accused by seizing the stolen cash amount of Rs 15,000/- and the auto number CG/07/T/2092 used in the incident.
