CBI court gave this verdict in years old case of gangrape during riots
Lucknow: All the accused involved in the gang rape incident during the riots that took place 18 years ago in Mau, Uttar Pradesh, have been acquitted. CBI court has given this decision. Let us tell you that during the riots in Mau, an incident of gang rape came to light, in which 15 people were named. Lucknow CBI Court has given this decision late yesterday evening.
According to the information, a riot broke out in Mau on 14 October 2005 during the Bharat Milap programme. It was alleged that at the behest of the then MLA Mukhtar Ansari, a fake case of gangrape was registered in Mau police station. In this case, on October 4, 2010, CBI had filed a charge sheet against 15 accused.
During the debate in the court, the lawyer said that the minor victim of gangrape was treated a week after the incident, whereas the other women were treated medically after one and a half months of the incident. Along with this, uncle, nephew and elders aged between 65 to 70 years were also made accused in the incident.
The hearing of this case took place in the Special Court of Lucknow CBI. After the hearing late yesterday evening, the court has acquitted all the 15 accused of gangrape during the Mau riots. Let us tell you that in the year 2005, there was a very serious riot in Mau district. Due to this riot, Mau kept burning for almost a month. The fire of riots was so severe that for the first time in history, the Railways stopped its operations from Mau. More than a dozen people were killed in the riots. Hundreds of shops and houses were burnt.
