CBI DIG Atulkumar Thakur inspected Karur Veluchamipuram

Tamil Nadu: CBI DIG Atulkumar Thakur personally inspected Veluchamipuram, the site of the Karur stampede, on Monday.
The Supreme Court, which is hearing the case related to the death of 41 people in a stampede during the Thaveka campaign rally in Veluchamipuram, ordered the formation of a CBI investigation team led by retired Justice Ajay Rastogi, consisting of IPS officers Sonal Mishra and Sumit Saran, Gujarat IPS officer Praveen Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar, and others.
CBI officers are staying at the Karur Public Works Department Tourist House and are investigating the Karur stampede. CBI DIG Atulkumar Thakur visited Karur on Monday and spoke with CBI officials. Later, he went to Veluchamipuram, the site of the stampede, and inspected it. At that time, IPS officer Praveen Kumar informed DIG Atulkumar Thakur about the CCTV camera video recording of Vijay’s car. He also pointed out where people were killed, where Vijay’s campaign vehicle was parked, and where people scattered during the stampede.
