Central government schemes have increased the development of tribals: Governor R.N. Ravi

Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu Governor R. N. Ravi stated that the schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and various initiatives by the central government have led to the development of villages and tribal people.
Governor R. N. Ravi inaugurated the 17th Tribal Youth Exchange Program, organized by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, at the Bharatiya Mandapam of the Governor House in Guindy, Chennai, on Monday and said: At the time of independence, tribal areas were very backward. Furthermore, the Maoists and Naxalites had hindered the state’s development, and thousands of youth were turning to violence. Now, Maoists and Naxalites have largely been eliminated.
He stated that the central government, led by Prime Minister Modi, is implementing various development schemes for tribal people in villages, which has led to their development.
Earlier, Governor R. N. Ravi participated in a tribal dance program and danced.
Speaking at a Fishermen’s Day function, Governor R. N. Ravi said: The fishing community is risking their lives to catch fish. Previous central and state governments paid no attention to the welfare of fishermen. The government led by Prime Minister Modi has created a separate ministry for the development of the fishing community. It is also implementing several welfare schemes for the development of the fishing community.
Fishermen protect marine resources. I have often met with the fishing community and heard their complaints and needs. It is true that they have problems. I will make recommendations to the central government regarding this and pressure them to take appropriate action, he said.
