CEO inspected election preparations

Raipur : Special Observers and Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale visited the assembly constituencies of Raigarh and Mahasamund districts before the second phase of voting and reviewed the election related preparations. Special General Observer Dharmendra S. Gangwar, Special Police Observer Anil Kumar Sharma, Special Expenditure Observer Rajesh Tuteja and Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale held a meeting at Raigarh and Mahasamund district headquarters and reviewed the election related preparations and gave necessary directions to the officials. During this period, he also visited the polling stations and took information about the preparations made for convenient voting of the voters on the polling day. He reviewed the law and order situation and also gave necessary directions. During this, General Observers, Police Observers and Expenditure Observers of the respective districts appointed by the Election Commission of India, Collectors and District Election Officers of the respective districts, Superintendents of Police and Nodal Officers of the SVEEP program were also present.


Special Observers directed to ensure availability of basic facilities in all polling stations in Raigarh and Mahasamund districts. Along with taking information about the law and order situation, he asked for comprehensive security arrangements in sensitive polling stations. He also took information in the meeting about the resolution of cases of violation of Model Code of Conduct in C-VIGIL. He also took information regarding FST, VVT, SST, C-Vigil, MCMC team, control room. The observers also took stock of the work of the micro observers appointed to provide timely voting information. During the inspection of polling stations, he discussed with the BLO and asked about the distribution of voting slips. The Special Observers and the Chief Electoral Officer also took information about the voter awareness programs conducted in both the districts and asked them to work with full capacity to achieve the target of 100 percent voting. Praising the sweep activities in Raigarh and Mahasamund districts, he said that only public awareness for voting will make this festival of democracy successful. Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale appealed to the voters to vote freely, fearlessly and impartially. He said that our aim is to ensure voting without temptation and fear.
