CG: Smuggler of illegal liquor arrested

Raigarh. Raigarh. A major action has been taken by the Kotwali police team against illegal liquor. The police station in-charge Kotwali had received information from an informer that a young man is going from Lakha to Urdana with a large amount of liquor in a black Honda scooty without number plate. On receiving the information, the police station in-charge immediately dispatched the staff for action. The Kotwali police team laid a siege near Lakha Dam Canal on the main and caught the suspicious young man.

The suspect told his name as Devbrat Pradhan (18) Raigarh, in whose three bags English liquor worth 27,360 was found. Devbrat Pradhan was not able to present any convincing evidence and documents regarding the transportation of liquor. Illegal liquor and a black Honda Activa scooty without number plate worth 90 thousand, totaling 1,17,360, were seized from the accused and action has been taken against the accused Devvrat Chauhan in the Kotwali police station under section 34 (2), 59 (a) of the Excise Act.
