CG: Strict action against illegal sand mining, 3 tractors seized

Katghora: The administration has taken strict action against illegal sand mining in the Katghora tehsil area of Chhattisgarh, seizing three tractors. Under the direction of SDM Tanmay Khanna, a joint team of revenue and police departments seized the vehicles transporting illegal sand and handed them over to the Katghora police station. This campaign is being carried out to curb the ever-increasing illegal mining in the area. According to reports, under the guidance of SDM Tanmay Khanna, revenue and police officials inspected various areas of the Katghora tehsil.

during the inspection. During the inspection, vehicles and activities were monitored in areas where illegal sand mining was common. Three tractors were caught illegally transporting sand. Following the action, legal action has been initiated against the vehicles and their drivers.
SDM Tanmay Khanna stated that illegal sand mining not only causes revenue loss but also has a serious impact on environmental balance. Sand mining along the river banks causes problems such as soil erosion, depletion of water levels, and environmental imbalances. He warned that in the future, those found involved in such illegal activities will face even more stringent punitive action. The administration has also appealed to citizens to immediately inform the administration if they become aware of illegal sand mining or transportation. This will enable the administration to take timely action and stop illegal activities. Previously, several actions have been taken against illegal sand smugglers in the Katghora area, but continuous monitoring and campaigns are necessary to completely eliminate these activities.

The SDM also stated that this campaign is not a one-day operation but will be carried out continuously to prevent illegal sand mining in Katghora tehsil. The team will periodically inspect the river banks and transport routes, and if any vehicle or person is found illegally extracting or transporting sand, immediate action will be taken. Due to the increase in incidents of illegal sand mining from the river in Katghora, the administration has decided to expand this campaign. Local residents and traders are expected to cooperate with the administration in this campaign and help stop illegal activities. The administration’s message is clear: illegal activities will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those who violate the rules.
