Charitable Trust Sector Projects: Minister directs officials to implement them quickly and fully

Tamil Nadu: Minister P.K. Sekhar Babu directed department officials to work diligently to ensure the complete and speedy implementation of Hindu Religious Endowments Department projects and to appease devotees.

A review meeting was held in Chennai on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Minister P.K. Sekhar Babu on preparations and materials for the International Vallalar Conference, the development of temples in Kanyakumari district, and the 4,000th Kudamuzhu celebrations.

The meeting examined in detail the preparations for the International Vallalar Conference to be held in Kilpauk, Chennai, in the first week of February, the key works to be undertaken with the government grant of ₹18 crore for the management and maintenance of temples in Kanyakumari district, additional facilities to be provided in temples with large numbers of devotees, and the provision of new clothes and uniforms to priests and staff for Pongal.

Additionally, preparations for the 4,000th consecration ceremony of the Arulmigu Raviswarar Temple in Vyasarpadi, scheduled for February 8th, the activities of the Village Temple Priest Welfare Board, the provision of puja materials to temples under the Orukala Pooja Project, the reprinting and publication of 300 more rare books through the Publishing Division, financial assistance for the renovation of rural temples and temples in Adi Dravida and tribal areas, as well as the activities of the Employee Welfare Scheme, were also reviewed.

Finally, Minister P.K. Sekhar Babu stated that the launch and implementation of several new schemes and services within the Hindu Religious Endowments Department have been well-received by religious scholars and devotees. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has so far provided ₹1,187.83 crore in government subsidies. He urged officials to work diligently to fully and expeditiously implement the department’s schemes and please devotees.

At Kolathur College…: Earlier, Minister P.K. Sekhar Babu personally inspected the construction work of the new building of Arulmigu Kapaleeswarar Arts and Science College being constructed at a cost of Rs. 25 crore at Kolathur in Poombukkara, Chennai and directed the officials to complete it as soon as possible.
