Chennai dental college HoD suspended over sexual

CHENNAI: The Health Department has suspended I. Ponniah, Head of the Oral Pathology Department at the Government Dental College in Chennai, following multiple complaints of sexual harassment raised by department staff and postgraduate female students.

A government order was issued in this regard by Health Secretary P. Senthilkumar on Friday. In the order, the secretary stated that disciplinary proceedings are being contemplated against Ponniah based on several serious complaints from department staff and postgraduate female students.
