Now Korba Forest Department has brought trained Kumki elephant Raju from ATR to control the agitated elephant. This elephant has also played an important role in tracking tigers. Trained Kumki elephant Raju has reached Pantora. Actually, in Rapadaand of Tapkara Range, an elephant had crushed two brothers to death. On Friday night, a tusker elephant targeted the mud house of Rameshwar Soni in Ward 9 of Bagicha Nagar Panchayat of Jashpur district. Rameshwar Soni (35), his 25-year-old brother Ajay Soni, 9-year-old daughter Ravita Soni were crushed to death. Neighbor Ashwani Kujur was also dragged by the trunk and crushed with his feet. Similarly, a lone elephant has created havoc in Korba too. The elephant entered the residential area and crushed three women to death. Apart from this, 5 cattle were also killed. This lone elephant of 10-12 years created havoc for three days.
