Chief Engineer office of Electricity Board will be built soon
Shimla. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu announced the opening of the office of the Chief Engineer of the Electricity Authority in Hamirpur and allocation of Rs 20 million for the underground power lines of Hamirpur city and said that the power lines of the city will be laid underground. He provided financial assistance of Rs 3.11 crore for the repair of 622 damaged cow sheds and Rs 50,000 each to 71 families who lost their belongings in the disaster. Apart from this, a total compensation of Rs 55 lakh at the rate of Rs 10 thousand per bigha was given in lieu of 1103 kanal land damaged in district Hamirpur due to the disaster and Rs 35.20 lakh at the rate of Rs 4 thousand per bigha for the damage caused to the crops of farmers on 1760 kanal land. He said that the state government is the government of the common people and the poor and knows their pain and suffering better. During the disaster, the state government restored essential services like electricity and water within 48 hours and rescued 75 thousand stranded tourists and 15 thousand vehicles. He said that never before in the history of Himachal Pradesh had there been damage on such a large scale but BJP leaders kept demanding an assembly session.

He said that he also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the special package, but till date the Central Government has not helped even a single penny. Not only this, claims worth Rs 10,000 crore have been sent to the Center as per rules.
The Chief Minister said that BJP MPs did not make any efforts for a relief package nor did they make any demand from any central leader. Despite having a debt of Rs 75 thousand crore and liabilities of government employees worth Rs 10 thousand crore, the state government has issued a special relief package of Rs 4500 crore for the disaster affected. Under which the compensation given for a completely damaged house was increased five and a half times to Rs 7 lakh from Rs 1.30 lakh. Apart from this, in case of partial damage to a kutcha house, the compensation has been increased by 25 times from Rs 4000 to Rs 1 lakh and in case of partial damage to a pucca house, the compensation has been increased by 15.5 times to Rs 1 lakh. Along with this, free electricity and water connections and cement at the rate of Rs 280 per bag will be provided.
