Chief Minister Eknath Shinde: Decision on caste census after taking opinion of all sections of the society

Maharashtra Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday said he will take an appropriate decision on the caste-based census after taking the opinion of all sections of the society and keeping in mind the sentiments of the people.

Shinde visited the memorials of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) founder KB Hedgewar and second ‘Sarsanghchalak’ MS Golwalkar in Reshimbagh area here and paid homage to them.

On Tuesday, RSS functionary Shridhar Gadge said that census should not be conducted on the basis of castes and asked what would be achieved by it.

Vidarbha co-union leader Gadge said, such an exercise may benefit some people politically, i.e. it will provide data on the population of a certain caste, but it will not be good socially nor in terms of national unity. Is.

To a question on the comments of RSS officials, Shinde on Wednesday said Maharashtra is a progressive state and its culture and traditions are different from other states.

He said, “Where all communities and castes live in the Junta, work in the Junta and celebrate the Junta. Therefore, after taking the opinion of all sections of the society, appropriate decision will be taken keeping in mind the sentiments of the people.” CM to all the journalists.
