Chief selector of Pakistan resigns from the post, know the reason
New Delhi. A big news has come out from Pakistan cricket amid the ODI World Cup 2023 being played in India. Chief selector of Pakistan cricket team Inzamam ul Haq has resigned from his post. He has sent his resignation to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Zaka Ashraf.
53-year-old Inzamam Ul Haq was made the Chief Selector of PCB in the month of August after Haroon Rashid left the post. Before this, Inzamam had also held the post of Chief Selector during 2016-19. It was during his tenure as Chief Selector that Pakistan won the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy by defeating India.
Inzamam ul Haq is counted among the greatest players of Pakistan. Former Pakistan captain Inzamam holds the record of scoring most runs for Pakistan in ODI cricket. Inzamam ul Haq has scored 11701 runs for Pakistan in a total of 375 ODI matches. In One Day International, Eng scored 10 centuries and 83 half-centuries.
Inzamam Ul Haq’s record in Test matches was also excellent and he scored 8830 runs in 120 Test matches, which included 25 centuries and 46 half-centuries. Inzamam was also a part of the Pakistan team that won the 1992 World Cup. After retirement, he also worked as the coach of Afghanistan cricket team.
