Class IX and X students in Odisha to get Mid-Day Meals at school

Bhubaneswar: In a good news to the students of schools across Odisha, now hot cooked Mid-day Meal (MDM) will also be served to class IX and X students at the school.

Odisha Government has approved this proposal as per a letter issued by the School and Mass Education Department of Government of Odisha.

The Odisha Government after careful consideration approved the proposal for provision of hot cooked Mid-day-Meals to the students of Class IX and X in the Government and Government Aided Secondary Schools. It will be applicable from the financial year 2025-26. The aim of this will be to increase nutritional level of the students and enhancing the enrolment, attendance and retention of students in Secondary Schools. This was mentioned in the said Government letter.

The total estimated financial implication amounting to Rs 570.71 crore annually will be borne from the State Budget under the ‘Mukhyamantri Poshan Yojana’.
