CM launches projects worth Rs 1,362 crore for Bargarh

Bargarh: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 123 projects worth over ₹1,362 crore in Bargarh district on Tuesday.
This was revealed during Majhi’s visit to the world-famous Dhanu Jatra festival in Bargarh. During his visit to the court of King Kansa, the CM presented a comprehensive plan for the development of Mathura (Bargarh) city.
According to sources, Majhi laid the foundation stone for 85 projects worth ₹980.58 crore and inaugurated 38 projects worth ₹382.26 crore.

Some of the key projects include the Dhanu Jatra Open-Air Theatre (Rs 12.80 crore), the beautification of the Bargarh Canal (Box Conduit) (Rs 30.17 crore), and the Antanadi Reservoir on the Jira River (Rs 114.87 crore).
Other major projects include a sewage treatment plant on the Jira River at a cost of Rs 132 crore, a vending zone development in Hatpara at a cost of Rs 30 crore, the Atal Bus Stand in Bargarh Sadar at a cost of Rs 65 crore, and the Antanadi Reservoir in Grindola at a cost of Rs 150 crore.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Dhanu Jatra is not only a celebration of India’s cultural economy but also a demonstration of spirituality in social life.
Efforts are underway to get this festival recognized by UNESCO.
Majhi also issued a stern warning to corrupt officials, urging them to mend their ways or face vigilance action, and stressed the need for government employees to prioritize public service.
