CM Yogi saw the bravery of UP Police and NSG
Lucknow (IANS). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday observed the joint exercise Gandiv-5 program of National Security Guard (NSG) and UP Police at the police headquarters. During this, he also tested the preparedness for various surgical operations in the fifth edition of the annual exercise by NSG.
The objective of the GANDIV-5 exercise program is to validate the planning parameters of the commando force in the event of a terrorist attack, hijacking of an aircraft or a hostage situation.
It is noteworthy that the Yogi government, which is working rapidly towards law and order, is also conscious about the terrorist incidents in the state. To prevent and deal with such incidents, security forces have been conducting mock drills from time to time on the instructions of CM Yogi.
In the same sequence, on Thursday also the team of UP Police and NSG conducted joint exercise ‘Gandiv-5’ to further strengthen their preparedness for such incidents.
During the exercise, while the Chief Minister tested the preparations at the police headquarters, counter terror mock drills were jointly conducted at Lok Bhawan by the state administration, various units of UP Police and NSG.
Let us tell you that in 1984, NSG was raised as a federal anti-terrorist force to conduct surgical commando operations to neutralize terrorist and kidnapping threats. It also has a special squad that currently provides armed security cover to high-risk VVIPs.
