Coimbatore: Organ donation by a brain-dead youth gives new life to five patients

Tamil Nadu: Five people have been given new life through the organ donation of a 28-year-old man who was rendered brain-dead after a road accident in Coimbatore. According to reports, Mahendran (28), a resident of Kurumbapalayam in Coimbatore district, was recently involved in a road accident while traveling on his two-wheeler. After being declared brain-dead, doctors informed the family about organ donation. Even in this difficult time, Mahendran’s family made a significant and humanitarian decision, agreeing to donate his organs. This decision paved the way for saving the lives of many others.
The hospital’s medical team then completed the necessary procedures and safely removed Mahendran’s organs. His liver, both kidneys, small intestine, and eyes were transplanted to different patients.
