Collector inspected paddy procurement center and school

Bilaspur : Amidst the election busyness, the Collector today visited the block headquarters Masturi and Kirari village and conducted a surprise inspection of the paddy procurement centre, school and Scheduled Caste hostel. He has suspended CAC Suraj Singh Kshatriya for not doing regular monitoring of schools. Show cause notice has been issued to Masturi BEO and Principal of Kirari. BEO Ashwini Bhardwaj has been prima facie accused of not maintaining administrative control over the subordinate employees and Principal Suman Kumar Ekka has been accused of keeping the classes vacant by approving leave of 4 teachers simultaneously. Collector Avnish Sharan today conducted a surprise inspection of the middle school located in village Kirari of Masturi block. He discussed with the children in a loving atmosphere for about half an hour.

The children of class 7th were tested on general knowledge and their knowledge regarding the recently concluded elections. He was impressed by the children’s candid answers and their self-confidence. He said that if children study diligently then it is not impossible to achieve any goal in life. He also gave career guidance to the children for their future life. The Collector also checked the handwriting of the children and encouraged them to practice writing one or two pages daily to improve their writing. Pleased with the children’s outspokenness and good educational level, the Collector also fed biscuits to all the children.


Collector Sharan reached the kitchen and inspected the food prepared for the children. He himself tasted the pulses, rice and vegetables to check their quality. Expressing displeasure towards the women self-help group when the quality of pulses was found not to be up to standard, instructions were given to issue a notice to the group president. After this the Collector also went to the Post Matric Scheduled Caste Boys Hostel located at Masturi. He met the children and took information about their education and the facilities and problems being faced in the hostel. He also instructed the DEO to make arrangements for proper education of a mentally retarded child named Samvet Basanti. Collector Avnish Sharan also took stock of the paddy procurement centers located at Kirari and Mopka. Discussed with farmers Anil Kumar Pandey and Dharmendra Singh who came to sell and got information about the arrangements.

The arrival at the procurement centers was said to be low at present. He got some sacks weighed in front of him and saw that far more than the stipulated quantity of paddy was being collected from the farmers. Checked paddy with moisture measuring device. He inquired about the availability of gunny bags and payment to farmers. Farmers told that they are receiving payment in two-three days. Farmers expressed satisfaction over the procurement system. In view of the changing weather conditions, he instructed to ensure measures to protect the purchased paddy from sudden rains. There is no jam of paddy in the paddy fields and the collector was informed about the regular lifting. On this occasion, SDM Bajrang Verma, District Education Officer TP Sahu, Food Controller Anurag Bhadauria, Deputy Registrar Manju Pandey, Nodal Officer of District Cooperative Bank Ashish Dubey, DPO Women and Child Development Tarakeshwar Sinha were also present.
